Takes A Village
Supporting families with neurodivergent kids
It takes a village to raise kids with hidden challenges.
Takes A Village is a social enterprise that exists to support families with kids with ‘hidden’ challenges, often due to neurodivergent conditions. These often include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD/ADD, generalised anxiety, Sensory Processing Disorder, Pathological Demand Avoidance, Opposition Defiance Disorder, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia etc.
At least 15% of Australian families are facing the extra challenges of raising neurodivergent kids. While there is growing awareness, there is still a significant lack of understanding amongst the general community. This can leave families feeling disconnected, isolated and misunderstood.
In addition to all the usual challenges of raising kids and balancing work and life, families have to manage the complex additional challenges of childcare and school, medical and therapy appointments, siblings and family dynamics, challenging behaviours, and judgement and lack of understanding in the broader community.
Takes A Village brings together a community of villagers who can share, inform and advocate for each other. And bring some love.
